Revamping debt settlement software for the modern era
As the sole designer, I led end-to-end research and design for a complete platform overhaul of legacy systems, modernizing the debt settlement experience for both consumers and financial agents.
CONTEXT
What is debt settlement?
Debt settlement is a negotiation process where individuals or companies agree with creditors to pay a reduced amount to resolve an outstanding debt. It offers an alternative to bankruptcy or consolidation, allowing people to pay off debt while minimizing credit damage.

Communication is key
Working with many different departments in a heavily regulated industry is hard. There's no shortcut to success here. The sooner we achieved cross-functional alignment, the sooner we could iterate and test designs. If I had more time on this project, I would work on setting up a more robust process to align stakeholders. I believe this will be key in supporting the natural evolution of these products over time.
